LM5064: Maximum current which can be drawn from VDD pin, while still getting regulated output?

Part Number: LM5064

Hi,

We are using the LM5064 hot swap controller in our design.

I have a query related to the current supported on the VDD pin of this device.

We are interfacing the PM bus (SDAI, SDAO, SCL, SMBA) and Power good signals via 5 opto couplers to the  CPU.

We are planning to source the current  required on the LM5064 side of the Opto couplers from the VDD pin of LM5064. From our calculation, we expect the current required to not exceed 20mA.

From the LM5064 datasheet specifications, it is not very clear what is the maximum current supported.

VDD Current limit is mentioned as -25mA minimum. However this is with VDD =0V.

  • Can you please help clarify that if I draw 20mA from VDD, what will the regulated output of VDD be?
