UCC27424-Q1: Differences between UCC27424 and UCC27424-Q1

Part Number: UCC27424-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27424, , UCC27624-Q1, UCC27624

Hi team,

We are considering replacing UCC27424 with UCC27424-Q1.
Some specs (td1, td2) are different, is it a typo?

Best Regards,

  • Hi Hirotsugu,

Thank you for reaching out on E2E!

The datasheet specifications are correct for both devices.

Since you are looking to replace the UCC27424 with an automotive grade driver, have you considered UCC27624-Q1?

UCC27624-Q1 is our newest automotive qualified low-side gate driver! The UCC27624-Q1 is a 5A dual channel gate driver that can handle up to -10V on its input pins and has better timing characteristics than the UCC27424-Q1.It is pin to pin with UCC27424-Q1. I will attach the product page below:

    UCC27624-Q1: https://www.ti.com/product/UCC27624-Q1

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you,

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin-san,

We are considering a direct replacement from UCC27424 to UCC27624-Q1 due to delivery problems.

We noticed that there is a difference between the maximum values of Td1 and Td2.

Is it possible to switch from non-auto to auto?

We think they have the same design, but why is this parameter different?

Is the margin different for each grade?

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Hirotsugu-San,

Thanks for getting back to me!

Some of the specs might change due to the fact that -Q1 versions of our devices must go through AEC-Q100 testing which can result in some minor spec changes.

Yes you can switch from non-auto to auto!

Do you need an automotive qualified part?

If not, there is also UCC27624 which is the industrial version of UCC27624-Q1.

    Looking forward to hearing back!

    Thank you,

    Kevin Kosta

  • Hi Kevin-san,

    Thank you, I understand.

We don't need an automotive qualified part.

Thank you for newer device information, but we use UCC27424DGK and we need pin compatible part.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Hirotsugu-San,

    Glad I could clarify things!

I have another question for you if you don't mind me asking via PM. I will go ahead and send you a friend request.

    Thank you,

    Kevin Kosta
