When trying to read/write ensure that the gauge is not in sealed mode as you do not have access to the data flash in this mode. Additionally, if the voltage falls below the Flash Update OK voltage parameter the gauge will not allow flash writes of any kind. The Flash Update OK Voltage is based on the per cell voltage, so it is the top of stack divided by the Number of Series Cells.
