BQ25720EVM: Charging current is not same as received from host

Part Number: BQ25720EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25720

Hi,

I am using bq4050EVM board as BMS for 2S 6000mAH LiFePO4 battery pack and bq25720EVM board as charger,

My adapter SMPS has output rating of 24V 10A.

While charging the battery pack, voltage and current received from the host is 7.2V and 3A respectively.

When I started the charging, pack voltage was around 5.6V and charging current was around 2.85A(near to 3A) but as soon as voltage reached around 6.4V, charging current dropped to

around 1.5A and by this time battery capacity hardly reached to 2000mAH. So my question is that is it happening due to charger entering into CV mode?

If yes, then why it is entering into CV mode so early? shouldn't it enter near to the charging voltage which is 7.2V? if Enters into CV mode at this time then it will badly affect the charging time of the pack.

If not, then please suggest the changes where I am doing the wrong setting.

I have attached the saved register file of bq25720 while current received is 3A but charging current is 1.5A.
