TPS22975: Rds_on value on different current

Genius 17295 points
Part Number: TPS22975

Hello,

My customer has a question for Rds_On of TPS22975.

The datasheet specifies Rds_on value with only -200mA case both on the graphs and the tables.

Is these Rds_on value constant with differenct current value?
Are Rds_on with -200mA case and -6A case the same?

Regards,

Oba

  • Hi Oba,

The current has an indirect effect Rds_on by the after affect of heating up the device. At max current of 6A, the device will be heating up more than at 200mA so you would be looking at how Rds_on changes over temperature.

Another thing to consider is for optimal RON performance, it is recommended to have VIN ≤ VBIAS. If VIN > VBIAS, the device will exhibit RON greater than what is listed in the Electrical Characteristics VBIAS = 5 V and Electrical Characteristics VBIAS = 2.5 V tables.

    Best Regards,

    Elizabeth
