Hello,
Thank you for using E2E! TPS6521902RHBR is one of our new PMICs configured to power the AM62 processor + LPDDR4. We are currently supporting pre-production samples which can be used for prototype and evaluation. The device will be officially released to market in 1Q-2Q 2023. The application note "Powering the AM62x with the TPS65219 PMIC (Rev. A)" shows how each of the PMIC variants can power the Sitara AM62 processor for different scenarios. We will also be releasing a user programmable version of this PMIC for customers to re-program the settings to support different processors/SoC system power requirements.
TI’s longstanding policy is to maintain, as long as possible availability of every product for which there is sufficient demand. TI recognizes its products are sold to a wide variety of customers and used in a wide range of Industrial applications with expected production lifetimes in excess of 10+ years.
TI uses a network of both internal and external manufacturing partners that do not give unconditional supply guarantee’s to TI. Therefore, it is not possible to eliminate all supply longevity risks with an unconditional guarantee. However, in a case where a unique supplier discontinues their material supply to TI, every effort is made to re-qualify a new supply source to ensure longevity of supply.
Outside of those conditional supplier availability issues in the example above, TI does have established clear guidelines to ensure that we only consider a TI standard product for obsolescence when three conditions simultaneously exist: the product has had no sales for the last five years (seven years for automotive or high-reliability products), it has been in production for at least 10 years, and there is no current customer demand.
To reinforce our commitment to product longevity, on the rare occasions when we classify a TI product as end of life, we do this only if there is a potential issue that may affect product quality or our ability to manufacture the product over the long term.
Thanks,
Brenda
