TPS650864: SWB2 default configuration

Hi,

Looking at the datasheet, I want to be sure I'm interpreting it properly.  

SWVTT_DIS register shows 1 in bit 7, so SWB2 is enabled.  

LDOA1_SWB2_CTRL shows 0 in bit 0, so SWB2 is disabled here. 

Can you confirm that this means the SWB2 is disabled overall on reset?  I think that's what it means.

Also, I think this is more of a formatting question, but why does it say Reset "X" in the table 8-61?  Wouldn't that imply an unknown?  The same happens in table 8-76.

    Hi Gilbert,

    For the TPS6508640 device, bit 7 of the SWVTT_DIS register controls LDOA1 while bit 0 of the LDOA1_SWB2_CTRL register controls SWB2. This can be found in the descriptions of those bits.

    Bits with an "X" in the reset column are not reinitialized to a set value for all OTPs when going through a reset. The reinitialization value will be specific to the OTP variant, which can be found in the Figure above the bit description table. In the case of SWVTT_DIS, the reinitialization values will be found in Figure 8-61.

    Hello Layne,

    Thanks for the clarifications. Based on your feedback, this means that SWB2 is disabled by default in TPS6508640. Is there an easy way to enable SWB2 without re-programming the device?

    If your answer is no, is our only option is to buy the generic part TPS650861 and program the OTP with TPS6508640+ enabled SWB2?

    Hi Gilbert,

    Do you need SWB2 to be enabled by default? Bit 0 of the LDOA1_SWB2_CTRL register can be written to a 1 to enable SWB2 after startup.
