BQ24610: Functional Safety Pin FMA

Part Number: BQ24610

Hi expert,

I am reading through the "BQ24610 Functional Safety FIT Rate and pin FMA". On page 9, table 3-5. "Pin FMA for Device Pins Short-Circuited to input supply (+15V)", the description for ACN and ACP is "Normal charging operation but input current limit will not function".

Can you provide more clarity on what is meant by "input current limit will not function"? Current is no longer able to be monitored across the shunt resistor, so do the setpoint ACSET, ISET1 and ISET2 become irrelevant? What is the output charge current delivered to the battery expected to be? Possibly anywhere in the fully range of operation or would it deliver max current?
