Reg TPS92390RHBR backlight LED driver IC

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92390

Hi,

Greetings!

We have selected the part : TPS92390RHBR backlight LED driver IC for our application.

will you please clarify my below questions for better understanding.

1.Our Requirement is LED per channel current : 20mA(max) , whether we can set max. LED current as 20mA?

2.we have LED current of 20mA per channel, whether we can reduce the LED current from 25% (5mA) to 100 % (20mA) for dimming functionality for LCD backlight application?

And also please suggest any parts which suits below requirement of our application.

Requirement :

LED max per channel current : 20mA

Minimum input Voltage : 5V

Maximum Input Voltage : 48V , 65V(If Available)

Output Voltage : 18V

No of channels : 4

Dimming : PWM

Topology : Buck-Boost

  • Hi Nandhini,

According to your working conditions, you can use TPS92390 as your LED driver.

    1. You can change the ISET resistor to limit the max LED current as 20mA per channel.

    2. Yes. You can use PWM dimming to change LED current from 25% to 100%.

TPS92390 has 4 channels and the input voltage range is 3V to 48V.

You can use SEPIC topology if your output voltage is 18V.

If there are any questions about our device, please do not hesitate to contact us.
