BQ25180: Register address for setting charge current

Part Number: BQ25180

Hi TI Teams,

We have some question about BQ25180, the details are shown as below:

1) Which register address is used to set the charging current? From the datasheet we can just learned the fast charge current control register name is ICHG_CTRL.

2) How to set the charge current? We have doubts about the description of setting the charging current in the datasheet, is there a specific example?

3) If we don't change the register of charge current, What is the default charging current?

Thanks,

Kind Regards

  • Hi Lumina,

The ICHG_CTRL register is the field to change the battery charging current. You can use the tichargergui located here to help with configuring the registers.

    https://www.ti.com/tool/TI-CHARGER-GUI

The default charging current is 10mA. If you click on the register configuration section, you can select your charge current and the GUI will calculate the bits you will need to write to the device.

    Regards,
