TPS2410: TPS2410 P2P replaces TPS2411

Part Number: TPS2410
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2411

Hi ,

TPS2411PWR is in short supply now, we want to change to TPS2410.

TPS2410 can provide linear start control function, TPS2411 has switch control method, what is the difference between these two? Will the following line function be affected?

Many thanks!

  • Hi Rhea,

The difference between TPS2410 and TPS2411 gate control techniques is clearly described in the datasheet section '8.4.1 TPS2410 vs TPS2411 – MOSFET Control Methods'. Customer can take a decision after understanding advantages and disadvantages of both the control methods.

  • Hello,

    Hope you are doing well!

I read the datasheet and found the explanation between TPS2410 and TPS2411.

The TPS2410 provides a linear control when the V(ac) is less than 10mV, and TPS2411 is more suitable for the large step load transients application.

However, I had a few more questions that hope to acquire your kindly support:

    1. I noticed that the datasheet define the 'slow turn-off' when the external circuits force V(ac) below 10mV. If the customer use TPS2410 for voltage measurement (12V), will this slow turn-off or turn-on affect the time for monitoring compared with TPS2411?

    2. If the V(ac) will never goes below 10mV, can I say that the turn-on time between TPS2410 and TPS2411 is the same?

Thanks a lot for your help!

I'm looking forward to your reply!

    Best regards,

    Xinyuan Li

  • Hi Xinyuan Li,

In terms of reverse current blocking capability,

    1. TPS2410 performs better when compared to TPS2411 for slower variations in Vac because the linear gate control of TPS2410 reduces the gate voltage (there by increases the FET ON resistance) as the load current decreases and eventually blocks reverse current before Vout goes higher than Vin.
    2. Both TPS2410 and TPS2411 have similar performance during fast transients. The reverse current that will flow before these devices can detect and turn OFF the FETs is =  (Fast turn-off threshold voltage)/ FET Rds(on)
      1. The linear gate loop of TPS2410 is generally slower and hence for fast transients, there will be reverse current flow even for TPS2410
