BQ79616-Q1: BQ79616 with BQ25731 CHARGER

Part Number: BQ79616-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28782, BQ79616

Hello:

We need to develop complete power systems for portable medical equipment for a customer. It will have a root converter using UCC28782 as ac-dc front end set to 26V @100W max. It will have a WT6636F chip to interface with USB C PD receptacle

It is going to charge a portable lightweight battery yet needs 480 Whr at 24V pack.

Do we need to implement a full battery management system for this application? Will that be optimum with BQ79616 chip?

Do we then program it using a GUI or full-fledged "BMS Studio"( as in code-composer-studio)  or something of this sort?

Appreciate any reviews on this matter.
