TPS546D24A: Coupled inductor

Hi Team,

Wants to check the TPS546D24A D/S says it supports strongly coupled inductor, but I cannot find any traces or application information. Could you please share some literature to me how to utilize TPS546D24A with coupled inductor? Thanks!

There is no specific literature on using the TPS546D24A with tightly coupled inductors.

The current sense and average current mode control architecture are designed to work with tightly coupled inductors so that you can design the circuit normally and take advantage of the size reduction of inverse coupled inductors to eliminate the issues many converters have with tightly coupled inductors.

Peak and Valley current mode control, as well as mid-point average detection for current reporting and current sharing can have issues with tightly coupled inductors due to the rapidly changing inductor current at the mid-point of the low-side FET on-time.

To eliminate these issues, the TPS546x24A family of devices use a peak/valley averaging scheme and continuous current monitoring and averaging for the average current mode control loop and current sharing.
