LM5141: LM5141QRGERQ1

Part Number: LM5141

Hi,

What is the current drawn by LM5141 during the light load condition  and in the design the DEMB ( diode emulation ) pin pulled High for the continues operation (FPWM).

  • HI Shiva,

If the controller operates in FPWM, then the VCC current (and thus the VIN current) is mainly what's required to drive the power MOSFETs. This is effectively Qg*Fsw for each FET, where Qg is the MOSFET gate charge at Vgs = 5V. The controller quiescent operating current will be insignificant relative to this gate drive DC current consumption.

I recommend filling out the LM5141 quicktart calculator to check this design.

    Regards,

    Tim
