BQ34Z100-G1: BQ34Z100-G1 SOC jump during after 2 months shipping

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

Hi

The customer found the BQ34Z100-G1 SOC jump after 2 months sea transportation.

They set the Load Mode to 1, Design Energy Scale *40, current scale *3.5,during test phase the SOC is normal,

Before shipping they discharge the SOC to 30%~40%and seal, after 2 month sea transportation the SOC jump to 100%.

Does the Energy Scale will effect the SOC jump to 100%?

Waiting for your reply.

Thanks

Star

  • Hello Star,

The max design energy scale is 10, if they set it over this value it may overflow the registers. This is defined in the TRM section 3.2.5 Design Energy Scale.

What is their battery chemistry? With very flat voltage curves for LFP batteries it is sometimes common to see this behavior during long periods of relaxation since the gauge uses the voltage for adjusting the SOC in relax mode.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
