Dear Madam, Sir,
I just like to know what is the IC's settling time from GE pin high state to initcomp = 1 in control word. The IC is powered always and inactiv(GE pin = LOW). I realized it is about 1sec. Is it normal? I use the bq35100 IC in Accumulator mode.
Does chip's GE settling time collerate to coulomb counter conversion time? It is defined to 1sec.
Thanks in advance
Laszlo
Hello Laszlo,
The gauge should be able to capture shorter current bursts and accumulate it in less than 1sec intervals. The Current() register is updated in 1s intervals but accumulation is always occurring.

Hello Wyett,
What about IC'settling time ? When can I start communicating with the chip after set GE pin?
Why do I feel that you don't want to understand what I'm asking
Thanks
Laszlo
Hello Laszlo,
I'm not sure I understand your request, the gauge should use the INITCOMP bit to indicate initialization after startup is done (setting GE high). It is most likely on a 1s time interval since the firmware updates all the registers on 1s time interval. You will need to give some time after GE is high in order for the LFO and HFO to start.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
