LMR64010: Current limit max value and soft start circuit

Part Number: LMR64010
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2731

Hello,

My customer is evaluating LMR64010 and has several questions.

1.
The datasheet doesn’t define max value of switch current limit like the below. Is the MAX value available?

2.
They want implement soft start circuit. Then they found the below thread.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/846611/lm2731-adjust-the-start-up-time/

Does the same idea work for LMR64010?

Regards,
Oba

  • Hi Oba,

Regarding questions1: There is no guaranteed maximum switch current limit. There is a rough one of 1.87A for reference. Usually, the min current limit is more critical. Customer should guarantee that the min current limit can meet the maximum needed current in customer's application.

Regarding questions2: Yes the same idea in the thread for LM2731 works for LMR64010.

    Regards

    Lei
