TPS62868: Design review

Part Number: TPS62868

Hi Team,

Would you kindly help review the schematic attached?

Application conditions:

1.      I2C reserved, Vout =0.5V/ 0.3V, use GPIO select VSET/VID resistor.

2.      Iout=1.5A

Thank you for support

  • Hi Marvin,

For these low output voltages, we recommend a 110nH inductor.  Also, the inductor is wired incorrectly in the schematic!  It needs to be in series with the SW pin and the VOS pin connects after the inductor (to Vout).

If you are not using the I2C interface, then you can only have 1 output voltage (as set by the VSET resistor).  (You could also toggle VSET/VID to change to 0.9V, but this is a fixed voltage without using I2C.)  It looks like you are setting either a 0.5Vout or 0.3Vout voltage with all those resistors.  The resistors look correct in that case.

    Thanks,

    Chris
