TPS544B25: Connecting TPS544B25 I2C signals to TPS650861

Part Number: TPS544B25

Hi,

I'm working on a design that contains one TPS65086100 and one TPS544B25.

I'd like to know if it's possible to connect both devices on the same I2C bus with the pull-up connected to the LDO3P3 power supply from the TPS65086100.

Is it dangerous for the TPS544B25 device ? Both devices are powered with the same input power supply.

Erwin

  • Erwin,

No, this does not pose a risk to the TPS544B25.  The TPS544B25 can tolerate PMBus termination voltages upto 5.25V, even if the VDD pin of the TPS544B25 is unpowered.

Make sure the LDO3P3 supply is not overloaded and the TPS544B25 and TPS650891 have different PMBus / I2C addresses.
