TPS65013 boost up issue.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65013

4265.TPS65013.pptHi All,

I have problem on RESPWRON signal of TPS65013, on my PcB board when used probe of multimiter or scope touch on the RESPWRON pin(pin 33). the TPS65013 can power up properly, so in this case anything wrong on my PCB board?

  • I'm not sure I understand what the issue is here.

Yes, you can pull-up RESPWRON to 3V assuming the Vih for your processor/ASIC is considerably less than the voltage you pull-up to.

It recommended to use 1 M Ohm pull-up to limit the current into the open-drain RESPWRON output.

    Does this answer your question?

If not, please provide scope shots of the issue, schematic and layout.

  • Daniel,

Thank for your suggestion, we did try follow you comment but still found the issue. let me explain more about my circuity. We use VMAIN (set to 1.8V) of TPS65013 supply to LCD display. I notice that when the LCD can not boost up VMAIN is 1.734 and RESPWRON(pin 33) is low(0V) after we use probe of osiloscope touch on RESPWRON(pin 33) then the RESPWRON(pin 33) is chang to high(logic high) and VMAIN abit increase to 1.8V and LCD can boost up.

I attached application circuit for your reference, sine schematic is confidential, I can not share here but I can send it to your personal e-mail if you need it.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the illustration. I see the issue now. The device doesn't stat up correctly however if you put the probe on the RESPWRON pin, the PMU starts up fine. Likely, you're adding a 10pF 1M Ohm load to the RESPWRON pin (for a typical scope).

If you add a 10pF capacitor from the RESPWRON line to GND does it work?

  • Daniel,

We did add 10pF,100pF capacitor from RESPWRON to GND but can not solve the problem.

    - What cause the RESPWRON signal still low when VMAIN present and within regulation(set 1.8V).

    THank,
