TPS22966: Ven Threshold

Part Number: TPS22966

Hello E2E,

What are the turn on and turn off thresholds for Von / Ven?  Will it vary depending on Vin and Vbias?  In my application, Vbias is 5V.

Also, Ven is strictly digital, correct?  Once Ven > Vih, then there will be no change in analog performance (Ron, Slew Rate, etc), correct?

Thanks!

Russell

  • Hello Russell,

    See below for threshold voltages:

As long as VBIAS is at least at 2.5V and Vin is at 0.8V to VBIAS then hitting the rising threshold should turn the device on without any effects on slewrate, and minimal effects on Ron. The supply must be able to provide 1uA to ON as well.

You can see from figures 7-9 that the largest factor in ON-resistance is VBIAS (biases the gate voltage) so with lower Vbias there is some change in Ron between ON voltages.
