USB dedicated charging port powered from Li-ion Battery

Hello E2E community,

I want to design a Li-Ion powered "dedicated USB charging port" so that i can charge any device that is capacble of being charged via USB.

I have read the relevant parts of the USB 2.0 and the USB battery charging specification, and it seems that the threshold voltages are (4.75 - 5.25 volts) supplying a current of up to 1.8 amps.

So i will probably need a DC-DC boost converter, and some sort of voltage controller. Can someone reccomend a controller or package to suit this application. are the MSP430 controllers suitable?

Regards
