TPS54620 6A LED drive OSCILLATES at no load

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54620

I am using a TPS54620 buck converter with 12V input to drive 6A LEDs. Vout is 2V to 5.8V (Red, BLU and GRN LEDs).

The problem is oscillation when going to no load. I have got it stable at 6A for the 3 output voltages, but when going to no load the output oscillates (~150 to 350mV)

I have tried many variations of compensation values without success. I started with the Switcher Pro compensation recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

Nick

  • Switcherpro will only calculate compensation for voltage source buck converter.  I don't know how you are configuring your circuit, but if you are driving LEDs, you should never have a "no load condition".  can you post your schematic and waveforms that illustrate your concerns?
