Question about bq27500 and the thermistor 103AT

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27500

I have one question about the use of the specific thermistor 103AT in the design of gas gauge system with bq27500. The specification datasheet said that it´s necesary the use of a specific thermistor but, ¿can you give me a reference of a comercial battery that include this thermistor?

I need for a student final project in the university and it´s much better buy a battery with this internal component.

Many thanks in advantage.

  • Carlos,

Lots of our customers use custom packs and write this into the specification.  In your case, I would consider if possible purchasing an external 103AT thermistor and attaching it to your cell or to your system board somewhere close to your cell.  You actually won't lose much performance here (under the packaging, must packs just have a thermistor taped to the side of the cell).  103AT thermistors are very easy to come by, and shouldn't drive your battery choice.  If you must have an internal thermistor, I would contact a pack vendor and ask this question.

    Cheers,
    Charles
