Hi All,

We are bringing up a new BMS and would like to know if there is a way to manually activate external balancing FETs attached to the bq40z50 using bqStudio?

Hello Jeremy,

Currently the gauging algorithm is the only thing that can control the cell balancing, there's no manual control.

If you use the BQ40Z50-R4 there is voltage based cell balancing which may be easier to trigger balancing than the standard delta-capacity based balancing we usually use with impedance track gauges.
