BQ27Z746: An unknow command sent from BQS

Part Number: BQ27Z746
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hi,

I'm testing BQ27Z746 EVM and using a logic analyzer to capture the I2C data.  I found when opening the BQS, I can find a command(0x3E,0x02,0xEE) which is not listed in datasheet or TRM. Would you please suggest what is this command for?  you can for sure observe this when you open the BQS, thanks.   (My FW: bq27z746_v0_01_build_12.srec)

BTW,  What's the default I2C speed of BQ27Z746?  400Khz or 100Khz?

write to 0x56 nak

write to 0x55 ack data: 0x3E 0x02 0xEE 0x00 0x00

write to 0x55 ack data: 0x3E
read to 0x55 ack data: 0x54 0x00 0x86 0x01 0x40 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00

  • Hello Yue,

bqSTudio tries to autodetect the connected device and will send many commands that may not be applicable to bq27z746. Default speed is 100KHz.

After the autodetect in bqStudio you can disable the dashboard to avoid the autodetection commands from being captured
