TPS568230: VIN vs Switching Frequency

Guru 10950 points
Part Number: TPS568230

Hello,

My customer considers using the TPS568230 with the following conditions.

    - VIN=12V, VOUT=2.5V~5.5V, FSW=1MHz

  1. Are there any problems using the above conditions?

Is there any limit on the VIN input range depending on the FSW setting?

  2. Are there any recommended operation modes under the above conditions?

Which of the three operation modes is the most advantageous?

Thank you.

JH

  • Hi JH,

    1. Are there any problems using the above conditions?

Is there any limit on the VIN input range depending on the FSW setting?

No, there're not any limit of the condition. Vin=12V is our typical condition.

      2. Are there any recommended operation modes under the above conditions?

Which of the three operation modes is the most advantageous?

The three modes have different performances @ light load.

The selection of modes depends on the request of efficiency and ripple voltage, not to do with the condition.

You can find the efficiency data on the PAGE 9 of the datasheet under the three modes FYR.
