TLVM13640: Inquiries about TLVM13640

Hello,

My customer has some questions about the TLVM13640.

1. There are the suggested Fsw ranges for VOUT(Table 8-1) in the datasheet. Is it mandatory?

Or is it okay for the user to freely set and use it according to the formula below?

2. Is it correct RENT = 100Kohm in the formula below in the datasheet?

Thank you.

JH

  • Hi JH,

    1. The suggest Fsw range table is a rough guidance to accommodate full input voltage range up to 36V and maintain 20-40% inductor ripple current.

The switching frequency suggestion would depend on your application needs and design criteria (efficiency, thermal, solution size, etc.)

2.Yes top resistor is generally suggested to be 100kohm starting point. This is to help limit the current drawn from the enable resistor divider. You can pick whatever Rent value you want fixed, then calculate Renb and Vin based on that.

    Regards,

    Jimmy
