Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM74800-Q1
Hello Team,
I'm posting on behalf of my customer:
I am currently testing the design stated in "Figure 21. Design # 6" in the document https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slvaes2/slvaes2.pdf
I am using two LM74800EVM-CD evaluation PCBs. My Vprimary supply must withstand reverse polarity, the issue of my question is about the VSNS pin of the VAUX diode controller. In the schematic the resistor R6 is limiting the negative current of the VSNS input in this situation. In my design the current is well below the -1mA ABS MAX for the input, but the voltage on the pin is around -0.5V which is violating the stated minimum of -0.3V in the data sheet when V(A) >0.
Is it sufficient to limit the current below -1mA? The limit of -0.3V is hard to achieve with clamping.
Regards,
Renan
