TPS40055: Zero power dissipation

Part Number: TPS40055

Hi Team,

Can you please help us with our customer's inquiry below?

In datasheet page 5 test conditions "TA = –40°C to 85°C, VIN = 24 Vdc, RT = 90.9 kΩ, IKFF = 150 μA, fSW = 500 kHz, all parameters at zero power dissipation". How to set up the evaluation board to achieve "zero power dissipation" ?

Can you provide a schematic of evaluation board you used to derive the specification values (page 5-6) with Bill of Material?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hello Danilo

Those are the test conditions in TI's production line, and we are not using EVMs in the production line.

The schematic of the ATE test board in the production line is not allowed to disclose outside TI.

'....zero power dissipation....' means the min/typ/max numbers in the electrical characteristic table are guaranteed when TJ is in the range of –40°C to 85°C. It doesn't mean the device consumes zero power during the production tests.

  • Hi Eric,

Thank you for your response. I received this feedback of our customer.

Could you provide equivalent component values (resistors an capacitors) as EVMs you used for production test? the values you used to achieve IKFF=150uA? What Vo (DC output voltage) level is for production? I know you have example to calculate the component values in datasheet, but it is quicker for us to use the same component values you used in production to verify if the parts meet specifications. Thank you a lot!

    Regards,

    Danilo

  • Hello Danilo

As I mentioned, the schematic/BOM of the ATE test board in the production line is not allowed to disclose outside TI.

When the amount of current is mentioned in the test condition, that means the amount of current is being controlled by ATE.
