TPS25750: Are there any benefit to use TPD6S300 along with TPS25750

For TPS65987, the CCx pins are tolerant only to 6V, so there are TPD6S300 existed in the reference design. But for the newer TPS25750, the CCx pins are 26V tolerant, and OVP is integrated, so may I replace TPD6S300 with a simply ESD protection device? Are there any other benefits to use TPD6S300 here?
