LM5177: Output power capabilities

Hi Experts,

Could I ask whether LM5177 can meet Vout (5-48V). Iout (5A), Pout (240W) requirements, and Vin can be DC with voltage range not been restricted? Output power rating will be 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3A, 20V/5A, 28V/5A, 36V/5A,and 48V/5A to meet PD3.1 Spec requirements. Also, if possible, could you help share how to identify the output voltage range with different current rating for a DCDC?

Hello Dylan,

LM5177 can fulfill your requirements from the output voltage and power standpoint. But you need to design the power stage to be able to handle the input current at lowest input voltage at the maximum output power.

The input voltage needs to be restricted to the input voltage level of the device, as the current measurement is done on the high-side next to the inductor.
