LM74610-Q1: LM74610-Q1: Using only PSU1

Part Number: LM74610-Q1

Hi Experts,

Good day.

Our customer has the following questions. Please advise.

My case is out of two I am powering only PSU 1 on and Psu 2 is never powered up, well in that case will my overall Oring circuit for PSU1 will work?

For the same IC I am using MOSFET, IAUC100N08S5N043ATMA1, could you please help me understand how can I confirm if the body diode required voltage 0.48v will be created in MOSFET to turn it on?

Keep safe.

Regards,

Josel

  • Hi Josel,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We will get back on this by early next week.

    Best Regards,

    Rakesh

  • Hi Josel,

In your circuit, if PS1 is only powered and PS2 is not powered up, the Vout will be powered from PS1 and the LM74610-Q1 in the PS2 path will keep its Mosfet OFF.

You can check the graph below from IAUC100N08S5N043ATMA1 datasheet to figure out the body diode current vs forward voltage drop characteristics. At the minimum load current (your design spec), the forward voltage drop should be > 0.48V.
