TPS92515HV-Q1: Thermal Problems of TPS92515HV-Q1

Part Number: TPS92515HV-Q1

Customer feedback that when using TPS92515HV-Q1 as a car headlight, the chip reaches the over-temperature protection point of 175°C during the test run at 75°C. After calculating the power loss, it is true that the input and output conditions will reach the thermal shutdown at 75°C. break protection point. Customers have two questions about this (VIN=42VVOUT=3.1V*12pcs=37.2V,ILED=1.2A):

1、What is a good thermal design method without changing the specifications? layout or techniques for adding heat dissipation materials and the like.

2、Customers want to know how the thermal vias of TPS92515HV-Q1 should be designed and how many vias should be used? How big should the vias be?

Or other cooling methods can help them.

Thanks!
