TPS536C7EVM-051: USB interface adapter connection problem

Part Number: TPS536C7EVM-051

I would like to inquire about the TPS536C7EVM.

I bought the TPS536C7EVM-051 2SET and USB interface adapter from TI's website and I'm testing the EVM board.

There are two problems as follows.

1. USB interface adapter and EVM are not connected. So the fusion GUI using PMBus cannot work.

USB2GPIO v2.0 seems to be installed normally on the PC.

However, when I launch the Fusion GUI, the window closes with an error message stating that the USB adapter could not be found.

Is there a dedicated driver for the USB interface adapter?

I would like to know the reference material or installation method for running the Fusion GUI using PMBus.

2. I want to change the output voltage to 1.83V using "VBOOT_CHA" pinstrap decoding.

But I've tried a lot and it didn't change more than 1.1V.

My guess is that the "VOUT_OV_FAULT_LIMIT" value stored in the NVM is 1.072V, so If the NVM value cannot be changed,

It is judged that the output voltage cannot be changed more than 1.1V. Is that right?

I would like to know how to change the output voltage of the EVM to 1.83V using pinstrap decoding.

We look forward to connecting you with TI's technical experts to address these issues.

Please reply to the above two problems.

  • Hello Sejoo,

    1. Fusion 7.7.1 is only compatible with USB-to-GPIO v1, not USB-to-GPIO v2. Fusion 7.7.5 or later is required. Contact   for the more recent version of Fusion. We will be deploying the new version of Fusion to ti.com soon.

    2. VOUT_OV_FAULT_LIMIT & Vout Max are both values in NVM that must be greater than the output voltage at all times. If the NVM value is 1.072V, you will not be able to set the output voltage to 1.83V.

    Thanks,

    Travis
