Hi Renan,

Are you powering the EN pin separate from Vin such from an MCU?

Our recommendation is to connect EN directly to Vin as seen in the datasheet typical application section.

For ESD protection typically a zener diode is used before the RC filter to clamp any fast transients.

The RC filter values can vary for specific applications.

Typical values are in the range of R = 100Ohm..10k, C = 1nF..100nF.

Is there a specific amount of delay you want to add to the EN pin? See figure 9-35 for typical EN pin delay.

Hi Renan,

Below is an example of using a zener diode as a clamp for overvoltage spikes.

You would want to check that the resistor and zener reverse voltage are sized correctly given the voltages you are working with. If your zener voltage is too low, then it will draw excessive currents. The zener helps to clamp the voltage at the EN pin if it tries exceeding the zener voltage. 

Typically, EN pin can be tied to VIN and is recommended. If the application is needing dedicated overvoltage protection then SLVA664 is the direction I would take. If you are using the RC filter to increase the EN delay then you'll need to calculate the RC values based on this settling time and EN rising threshold (zener not needed if just using to increase EN delay).

Thank you for the explanation! I have replaced the zener diode with a TVS diode (D5). Also, I connected pin EN to pin VIN as recommended by TI. This will provide more reliable ESD protection than a zener diode yes?
