BQ25601: BATFET question

Part Number: BQ25601

Hi team,

I have two questions about BATFET.

1. By setting BATFET_DIS to 1, the BATFET shuts down. And by setting CHG_CONFIG to 0, the BATFET also turns off. I wonder what is the difference between these two ways? In my understanding, if I set CHG_CONFIG to 0, in some cases the BATFET will turn on. For example, when the input current can not afford the system current, the BATFET will turn on to supply current. Am I right?

2. By setting BATFET_DIS to 1, according to the datasheet 9.4.4.2, only these conditions can be used to turn on BATFET. Is there any other way to turn on BATFET?

Best Regards,

Peter

  • Peter,

    1. When charging is disabled, the current can't flow from SYS to BAT, but the battery may still discharge from BAT to SYS.

    2. When BATFET is disabled, the current can't flow from SYS to BAT or from BAT to SYS.

    Thanks,

    Ning

  • Hi Ning,

Thanks for your answer. For the second question, I wonder if there is any other way to activate BATFET, except the conditions mentioned in datasheet. I took a screenshot below.

    Best Regards,

    Peter
