TPS2552: Question about cut-off.

Part Number: TPS2552

Hi

I have the questions as below.

1. How long does the current need to remain set to apply the current limit?

2. How does it return after the current limit is activated?

For example, if the current is limited at 520mA, what value should the current flow below to return?

Thanks

  • Hi David,

1, From our datasheet, the response time typical value is 2us.

2, If the current limit is 520mA, you must need to make sure the current is below 475mA full temperature.

  • Hi Kuno

    Thank you for your response.

    1. Isn't 2us a response time for short circuit?
Is the current limit equal to 2us?
     2. I was asking about the conditions under which the current limit is set and released.
For example, under what condition is the current limit set at 520mA released?

    Thanks

  • Hi David,

1, It should be equal, you can see we also name it 'Current-Limit Threshold'.

2, Sorry, I still can not understand what your mean totally.

Do you want to know what condition our current limit is 520mA, what condition our current limit is

  • Hi

I think I explained it wrong.
What conditions are required to return from the current current limit to normal operation?

current limit => normal (required conditions ?)

    Thanks

  • Hi David,

Because our device TPS2552 is constant current device, so just need the overload remove, our device will turn on. For example, when you set the current limit is 520mA typ(Rlimit=49.9kohm.), then you drive about the 520mA, our device will enter the current limit, and if you make the current load smaller than the 475mA, our device will go to the normal mode, so change the current limit to normal, only need to decrease the current.

    Best Regards,

    Kuno
