Output of TLV70033DCKT oscillates

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0344

Not sure how this is happening, but I have a TLV70033DCKT in my circuit, powered with 5V on Vin and Ena and the Output connected to a National LMH0344 and 3 ceramic decouplers, one at 4.7uF and two at 10nF.  The LMH0344 I've used before with an LDO and it's fine, but on this board, the output of the LDO oscillates like crazy.  Frequency is about 1.5MHz, Vp-p is about 1.8V and V(avg) is about 4.0V.  This is clearly not making the LMH0344 very happy, though I don't think it's died yet.  But it puts sufficient noise on the rest of the board that nothing else works.  How can an LDO do this?  The waveform is approximately a sine wave.  The 5V is driven by a bench power supply.

Any advice/clues gratefully received,

Ta,

Simon

  • Simon,

How does the TLV70033DCKT operate if it is disconnected from the LMH0344? Is the output still show the oscillation?

Are you seeing this on more than one TLV70033DCKT or just this one chip?

Can you send your layout and scope shots for us to look at?
