TPS65070 TS pin bias

Hi

where does TS pin bias(2.25V) come from?

what condition will cause bias on TS pin? and not?

thanks

  • Hi Daniel,

The 2.25V bias is not turned on when it is powered from BAT pin (no power at AC and USB, or PPATH B4 & B5 = 0), even with Vref turned on.

Is there a way to turn on the 2.25V bias with power only from the BAT pin ?

    C M Ho.

  • The bias on TS is only sourced when AC or USB are present.

The voltage on the TS pin can be read with the ADC when only battery is present but the voltage will be 0 V unless it is supplied externally.

Note, the 2.25 V bias on the BYPASS pin will be on whenever an ADC conversion is taking place or when ADCONFIG[4]=1.
This comes from an internal LDO and requires an output cap on pin BYPASS; it is capable of supplying 100uA max.
