TPS40057: Replacement of TPS40005MP

We had used a TI buck converter for a locomotive application design in 2016 and the same is successfully running in production. The part number is TPS40005MP. However, it seems the part is hard to get and those who can give the same is asking for more than 10 times extra cost. Our purchase team has identified another equivalent part with part number TPS40057QP. We would like to know whether the new part (TPS40057QP) could be directly replaced with the actual (TPS40055MP). Please confirm. Our input is 30VDC and the output is 24V with some ON/OFF control circuit and we do have a standby supply.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to replace TPS40005 with TPS40057 without a redesign.

If any chance to redesign, please consider;

Then, it probably works, but you should thoroughly validate the new design. Especially, please focus on the start-up performance.
