TPS16530 - Voltage observed at output

Hi,

We have TPS16530 as load switch to power up external peripheral.

Power to this device is dual powered (Battery and DC Supply) and when device is in shutdown mode (no supply, but battery alone is connected not powered), still I observe voltage of 110mV at the output.

EN and SHDN pin control signals are active only during DC Supply.

I'm trying to understand and find leakage path here which is making 110mV at output. Could you suggest possible way to avoid this?

Thanks for reaching out!

The internal FET has "Drain to Source Leakage Current" which will establish some voltage even in disable condition.

Since it is much below the operating threshold of load, it won't be any concern.

There is no load at the output, could you share how much is internal FET has "Drain to Source Leakage Current" ?

Hi,

Is this leakage current included in IQ(OFF) current 60uA?

Or 40uA is additional to 60uA?

IQ(OFF) is not included in that 40uA leakage current

Thanks, I assume this data is not available in datasheet.

Do you have details or graph about leakage at different input voltages?

Hi Hemalatha,

We only have typical value at 24V and 60V.

40uA (typ) at 24V and 42uA (typ) at 60V
