TPS62932EVM: UK Declaration of Conformity / UKCA

Part Number: TPS62932EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62933

i

We found the EU Declaration of Conformity for this product on your website https://www.ti.com/lit/cr/sszqpu1/sszqpu1.pdf?ts=1667483328962&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fsitesearch%252Fen-us%252Fdocs%252Funiversalsearch.tsp%253FlangPref%253Den-US%2526searchTerm%253DTPS62932EVM%2526nr%253D5

but we cannot find the UKCA/UK Declaration of Conformity.

Is this product not UKCA yet?

UKCA is mandatory for Great Britain from 1st Jan 2023.

  • Hi Cavillon

I am afraid that we do not have UKCA for this device.

  • Hi Ruby

Are you saying that T.I does not aim to make this product suitable for the UK market, but only for the EU? Please kindly clarify.

  • Hi Chris

Sorry to make you confused. I did not mean that. If we would like to sell to UK market, we may need special apply for the certificate. The certificate is sometimes required by special customer, as a result, we do not have that right now.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi Ruby

UKCA was created by the UK government following their exit from the EU. It is live since 2021. Between 2021 and the end of this year, we were in a transition period during which Great Britain continued to accept CE (as well as the new mark, i.e. UKCA). The transition ends on the 1st Jan 2023. From the 1st Jan 2023, UKCA marking is required and products that are CE only but not UKCA, and not yet placed physically on the Great Britain market already will not be suitable for Great Britain (GB).

You mentioned the potential need "to apply for special certificates" and "special customer request". Where did you get this information from at T.I?....
    1. If the product is already meeting CE, there should be no additional testing required. Currently, UKCA uses the SAME standards as CE, which means that if a product meets the requirement to be CE marked, it would meet the requirement of UKCA, however, the product still needs to be UKCA marked and have the UK Declaration in order to be suitable.
the marking can only be added to the product by its manufacturer or authorised representative.
    2. This would not be a "special customer request", UKCA follows the same principle as CE in terms of marking and rules and scope.
UKCA applies to all the products currently under the scope of CE.
UKCA is required from 1st Jan 2023 on the product or its packaging or accompanying document in order to be placed on the GB market.

My question remain: Does T.I aim to UKCA this product, or do they plan to stop offering it to the UK market from 1st Jan 2023?

  • Hi Chris

Well noted. Thanks for explaining that. I will check within team.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Chris

    Sorry for the delay.

The TPS62933 is a new device which was RTMed at the end of Dec of 2021, we may need time to get full certificates of the device. Would you mind sharing me the end equipment of your application and total run rate? And do you know which FAE is responsible for your company? If you do not mind, would you please tell me your company name so that I can check which field can be contacted? It may be more convenient for you to have a local field looped in.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hello Ruby
    Company Name: Mouser USA.

I am the EMEA compliance manager for Mouser USA focusing on the CE and UKCA compliance of the products on our portfolio.

We are a distributor of Texas Instrument. When Mouser USA offers/sells T.I products to the EU and UK, we, Mouser USA, are the "importer of records", as such we have responsibilities we need to fulfil. One of them is to ensure we only offer products that are compliant with the rules and regulations of that market.
Products that are under the scope of one or more CE directives calling for CE marking must be CE marked in order to be suitable for the EU/UK. Another obligation of the importer is to ensure that have in their records a copy of the EU Declaration of Conformity.
The same obligations apply to UKCA for Great Britain: Products that are under the scope of UKCA marking requirements must be UKCA marked (possible since Jan 2021 and mandatory from 1st Jan 2023) in order to be suitable for the GB market and for us to continue to offer that product to Great Britain. Another obligation of the importer is to ensure that have in their records a copy of the UK Declaration of Conformity.

Hence the request for a) confirmation as to when the products will start to bear the UKCA mark and b) when the UK Declaration of Conformity will be made available.
This question is on this product but the same concern applies to all the evaluation boards from T.I currently on our portfolio.

Thank you for your assistance in the matter.
