TPS65983B: Device working @480Mbps instead of 10G.

Hi, 

One of TI customer has designed a product based on Tahini Creek. But with no display port as below to support both TBT and USB hosts. We have both PCIe and PortE of Tr operating at the same time.

 

 

 

We found a failure in one GRL test for downstream display functionality test in below condition. But do not see any failure when used DP1.4 display monitor. Seeing issue only with the below SAMSUNG monitor.

  1. Connect DUT to TBT host then connect SAMSUNG S27A800U to the DFP of DUT – PASS(both Display is working well and PortE is working well at 10G).
  2. Connect SAMSUNG monitor to DFP port of DUT 1st and then connect the DUT to Thunderbolt host – PORTE can only run at 480Mbps instead of 10G.
  3. Connect monitor and DUT to TBT host and cold boot – PortE can only run at 480Mbps instead of 10G.

 

When we replaced the TI PD FW with Tapex Creek ref FW we can pass it but as that TI FW do not support USB hosts we couldn’t use Tapex TI FW for our product. Attached the PD logs for failing and passing case. Please help to review it and let us know if there is any need for PD FW modification
