TPS65510: Multiple Questions

Hope you are well!

I have some questions on the TPS65510 below. Let me know if any additional details are needed. 

  1. What values are suggested for resistors and capacitors and inductor in the datasheet on page 2? / How do I choose the values for these?
  2. What purpose do each of the surrounding components serve including the resistors, capacitors, inductor, and diode?
  3. What is the circuit on the right side of the diagram on page 2 in Figure 2? / How do I power the load from this circuit? / How do I integrate the load?
  4. In place of the main battery, can I use a power supply?
  5. Will the output change based on the backup battery voltage (when backup is used and when main power is used)?
  6. How much output current can the chip provide?
  7. How fast does the output switch from main power to backup battery once the main power stops?
  8. Can I add a voltage divider to step down the output voltage from 3.3V to 3V? / Do you have any suggestions for how I can go about stepping down to 3V?

    Thanks for reaching out. Well you have picked a device without much support collateral. I checked in the datasheet that there is not enough information about actual circuit examples with component values as well as a detailed design procedure detailing how to choose the external components. 

    Could you please let us know your application, EE and power rail (Vin range, Vout, Iout)? We could also check other good recommendations for your requirement.
