UC2825: Protection diodes with UC2825

Part Number: UC2825
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC2818

Hi,

We are doing PFC with UC2818D.We have the following diodes to protect the pins....(anode to GND, cathode to pin)

PKLMT pin  has a BAV102 CONNECTED (BAV102,  0.25A, 150V, Switching diode)

MOUT  pin  has SD0805S020S1R0  (Schottky, 20V, 1A)

Gate drive pin  has CGRKM4005-HF  (600V, 1A , General purpose).

Do you think these diodes will be OK for the purpose?

  • Hi Andrew, I just noticed that the product you tagged was the UC2825 but in the post you are referring to the UC2818D PFC (which I assume is the UCC2818D). Because of this, this post was mis-routed. I want to apologize for the delay and that I've assigned this to a product expert who will answer your question.

  • Hi Andrew

Thank you for the query on ucc2818.

The diode on multiplier should be ok although 20V 500mA schottky diode could be used.

For the gate driver, I think 600v diode is not required. You could use a simple 40V 1A schottky diode. Similar diode could be used for pklmt pin, but your choice should work for this.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Regards

    Harish
