TPS23731: CP pin operation on diode rectification and primary-side regulation

Guru 19645 points
Part Number: TPS23731

Please let me know about CP pin internal operation on the condition of diode rectification and primary-side regulation.

①What is the CP pin internal operation on diode rectification and primary-side regulation?

For example, is internal MOSFET always on and direct to GND?

 Or, the other operating?

②When above condition, is compensation network affect by CP pin output?

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi,

Thanks for reaching out to us! It is a very good question. Hope the comments below could answer your questions.

If diode rectification is used, or for applications not using PSR, it is needed to connect PSRS to AGND.

    1. With diode rectification the CP's MOSFET will be always turn-off and use its body diode for rectifying the auxiliary winding voltage

    2. The voltage drop of the body diode (~0.7 V) could influence the feedback loop
