TPS65994AD: Onboard FW update about TPS65994AD

Part Number: TPS65994AD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65994

Hi Sir,

Our customer want to update their TPS65994 FW at customer side. We find there's 99x FW update tool on secure website. Is there any document for that program? Or the program will get GUID / version / region data directly? Thanks for your kindly help.

Best regards,

Gary Teng

  • Hi Gary,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E!

If there is a new GUI version available on my secure, we recommend that the customer downloads the new GUI and imports their old projects onto the new GUI.

The latest FW comes with the new GUI.

    Thank you,

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

     I mean this one.

    Regards,

    Gary

  • Hi Gary,

    Thank you for the clarification.

    That tool is outdated.

For the latest TPS65994 FW, please use the latest GUI 6.4.27 and create a new project to see the latest FW version available and then re-flash the device via the preferred method.

    Thank you,

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

For end customer FW update requirement, do you have solution to process it at customer side except GUI?

    Regards,

    Gary

  • Hi Gary,

The tool you showed earlier can only be used if the PD controller is on the windows machine that the program is installed on. The update process is done over the Windows drivers.

If the PD controller is not located inside the laptop, then they must use the GUI to upgrade the FW.

    Thank you,

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

So how windews user update 99x FW currently? What windows driver they can use? Thanks.

    Regards,

    Gary

  • Hi Gary,

I just reached out to the rest of the team regarding this tool.

This GUI was released over two years ago and has not been updated.

We no longer support that tool and will be removing it from  my secure.

If you have any questions about the 6.4.x GUI please let me know!

    Thank you,

    Kevin
