TPS25750: Restarting TPS after programming EEPROM

Hello,

I am trying to work with custom hardware that replicates the USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01. I have been trying to program the EEPROM using the Aardvark, but the bus appears to have locked partway through the verification. In the past, I've pulled power from the EVM to reset things like this.

With cells attached, I don't have a way to do that now. How do I reset the TPS programmatically? Is there a command I can issue? Is there a recommended way of handling this in an application?

Hi Eric,

If you are familiar with the "4CC" commands in Ch.3, there is a command "GAID" that triggers a hard reset.

Thanks. I did try that yesterday (having found it on another thread), but perhaps not for long enough. A few questions:

1) Are these commands case sensitive? (It was listed as "Gaid" on that thread, so I literally tried that in ASCII)

2) Is there anything else I need to do besides send the command? ("Execute", etc.)

3) How do I tell if it worked? Monitor the other I2C bus to see it reading the EEPROM?

Hi Eric,

1. Yes, "Gaid" is a soft reset and will not reload the patch. "GAID" is a hard reset and should be more suited to your purposes.

I included a document about 4CC commands. It might be for a different device so I would recommend checking the TRM to make sure the CMD and DATA registers are correct.
