Hi TI team,
Whether UCC3895- Phase shift controller IC can be used for Isolated DC-DC Converter for 500W design, can we use the same IC for secondary side synchronous rectification also.
UCC3895 has four outputs, can we use Four PWM pins for switching full bridge along same two PWM pins for synchronous rectification.
Regards
Raja
Hello,
I believe you can control the SRs with the A and B outputs, gate driver and a 1 to 2 gate drive transformer. You would drive the primary of the transformer with the A and B outputs.
There is an application note that describes how to drive SRs with the UCC2895. The following link will bring you to the application note. It uses a little bit of logic to make sure the gate drivers are on only during energy transfer.

There is another option. You could use the UCC28950 which has outputs E and F for gate drive control.

Hello Mike,
Thanks in advance
I have followed above mentioned application note; https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slua287/slua287.pdf
Designed schematic for 500W isolated DC-DC Converter,
Kindly provide your mail id, so i can share the schematic and get confirmed for using the same logic.
